15, 29, 30 OCTOBER; 5, 12, 13, 26, 27 NOVEMBER; 10, 11, 18 DECEMBER:
O come, all ye faithful, to partake of Christmas feasting, merrymaking, and good cheer, revealing a few Victorian culinary secrets to share with Christmas revellers.
“Most dear happy time” is how Queen Victoria described Christmas and while Ruth shares Victoria’s passion for the spirit of Christmas she knows that a current yuletide host has to be both upstairs and downstairs. No time even for the lady’s chamber let alone a wild boar’s head, baron of beef and tortoise soup.
Ruth delights in Victoria and Albert’s love of carols, Christmas cards and trees. Did you know that many of the Christmas traditions we love today came from Victoria’s reign?
Ruth promises currants, spice and all things nice. She is certain she can help you to create an OTT Victorian style Christmas feast without stuffing a swan or filleting a sturgeon. Ruth has in mind many traditional Christmas dishes but all updated and with a twist. A royal menu fit for your family and friends.
You will be treated royally because you, your family and friends deserve it.
