While Valentine’s Day is unabashedly romantic, we like to take a wider view: sharing a Valentine’s Day dinner is just as appropriate with great friends and even the occasional family member.
We are lucky that Southern Hemisphere Valentine’s Day celebrations are in summer, so we can revel in fresh fruit and vegetables in our Valentine’s Day feasts. Alongside some special wines and the all-important bubbly.
Ruth has planned a simply deliciously summery menu for the occasion at Springfield house and garden. She’s urging her Isle of Capri tomatoes to ripen juicily at exactly the right time, so you can revel in their taste explosion. There are rumours of fresh figs and a divine dessert!
You can choose to sit at a romantic table for two or join the relaxed fun and chatter on a shared table with fresh flowers from the garden. Either way, you’ll enjoy canapes and drinks to start and then move inside to Ruth and Paul’s beautiful dining room for a four-course dinner with matched wines.
