When inveterate culinary adventurer and TV star Peta Mathias says the Basque Country food of northern Spain is "without a doubt the best I have eaten in Europe” you have to sit up and take notice. She fell in love with the scenery, food and people of the region, as so many travellers do with San Sebastian and St-Jean-de-Luz, and immediately added it to her gastronome culinary tours. Pintxos (pronounced pinchos) are her new passion: the Basque version of tapas but "much more refined, delicate and sophisticated. Unbelievably perfect, tasty and varied, you could live on pintxos forever and never get fat because you graze”. Loving them already. Peta promises a mix of pinxtos and traditional dishes, presented with her usual vibrant flair. Who else could wear Issey Miyake for cooking?
