OAT CRUNCH

Sprinkled on cooked fruit this becomes an instant and light crumble topping. Accompany fruit and Oat Crunch with Greek-style yoghurt for a very satisfying dessert. This topping is a great addition to Whole Poached Plums for a wonderful dessert.


INGREDIENTS

110g (1 cup) rolled oats
35g (1/4 cup) oat bran
48g (4 tbsp) brown sugar

30ml (2 tbsp) cream
30ml (2 tbsp) canola oil


METHOD

  • Preheat oven to 180ºC.
  • Into a medium-size bowl place rolled oats, oat bran and sugar and combine.
  • Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients and pour in cream and oil. Mix till mixture is moist.
  • Transfer to a low-sided baking tray, place in oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, stirring after each 5 minutes.
  • Cool and store in an airtight container till ready to use.
