Designed for teens (13-17 year olds), perfect for ‘graduates’ from Kids in the Kitchen but also newcomers, this is all about developing techniques and skills that will last participants a lifetime.
Starting with knife sharpening and knife care, we’ll show you safe chopping and slicing techniques – all under the watchful eye of Ruth’s chef team. Pick up lots of little tips the chefs have mastered over the years … and together we’ll make a tasty lunch from the chopped up bits.
As well, our participants will learn to prepare and cook perfect steak and fries. Any youngster who can do these things by 17 is well on the way to independence with essential skills.
Morning tea will be served for parent chauffeurs from 9.45am, before leaving young chefs to get their aprons grubby and have the time of their lives.
