The peace and tranquility of the Springfield house and garden worked its magic on budding writers when Kapiti-based writer and tutor Mandy Hager ran her first six-week Writing Workshop course (with lunch) here in winter.
She’s offering the course again – in late summer 2020 this time. The perfect gift for the would-be writer in your life?
Over six Wednesday mornings (plus lunch), Mandy guides participants through shaping their story so that people want to keep reading and it says what you really want to say. You’ll learn how to breathe life into your characters, whether for a novel, memoir, short story or family history, hone your skills and write a story that grips your readers.
A former Katherine Mansfield Menton Fellow, Mandy Hager was recently awarded the Storylines Mahy Medal for life-time achievement and a distinguished contribution to New Zealand’s literature for young people.
Feedback from the inaugural participants was highly positive. They loved relaxing together over Ruth’s café-style lunch, sharing ideas and helping support and motivate each other.
