5 MAY 2018:  Eating out in Hong Kong’s breathtakingly rich and varied food scene is one of the world’s food and travel delights. Few know it better than Tony Tan, and he’s going to share his top picks, from fine dining to hawker stalls for your eating pleasure.

Malaysian-born, French-trained and Australian-based chef/food writer Tony Tan explores this vibrant city through 80 exquisite dishes, in his latest book.  He explores everything from cutting-edge contemporary to traditional, at the same time weaving the background stories to the dishes and techniques only the insiders know.

“There can be no better guide to the glories of eating in Hong Kong than Tony Tan. Tony is known to many as an exceptionally talented cook; now he reveals himself as a fine writer and one who truly understands his subject.” —Stephanie Alexander

A mere dot on the map of China, a home to seven million people,  Hong Kong boasts a food scene that is breathtakingly rich and varied. Tony Tan explores this vibrant city with recipes from the city’s iconic hotels, its hawkers stalls, and even a legendary dumpling house on the outskirts of Kowloon.

Tony weaves his recipes with stories that trace Hong Kong’s Chinese roots, explore its deep colonial connections, and tantalise us with glimpses of today’s ultra-modern city and most delicious eating spots.
