Peppercorns are small fruits grown on a vine which are used as a spice or seasoning in cooking. Green peppercorns are the dried, unripe fruit and are commonly preserved in brine. They can be eaten as they are or can be chopped or sliced to add flavour to a meal. Green peppercorns go especially well in sauces or with red meat. They contain good levels of antioxidants as well as vitamins and minerals such as vitamin K and iron.
