Depot is chef and restaurateur Al Brown’s place, it reflects perfectly his attitude towards food: in season, beautifully cooked and to be enjoyed with friends. Young chef Kyle Street trained with Al, and after overseas culinary experience was asked to lead the kitchen team for this exciting and incredibly successful new restaurant. In the kitchen Kyle combines his passion for simple things done really well with Al’s knowledge of New Zealand producers and farmers to create Depot’s ever changing seasonal menu. Small plates of stylish yet hearty food, no fuss yet maximum taste, cooking over hardwood & charcoal and the birth place of sliders in New Zealand. It’s no wonder they received top awards from Cuisine and Metro magazines and constant rave reviews.
