WATERMELON WITH CHAAT MASALA AND MINT
Description
(makes 20 passaround sized serves)
A refreshing little bite which is ideal to serve at a barbecue. If you prefer serve platters of it as you would a salad.
INGREDIENTS
1/2 watermelon (you will need about 1 kg watermelon)
1 tbsp Chaat Masala 2 tbsp finely sliced mint
1 lime
1 tsp sugar 20 skewers
1 tsp sugar 20 skewers
METHOD
- Slice watermelon lengthwise through the centre and then cut into wedges.
- Slice each wedge into 1.5cm thick triangles.
- Sprinkle each of the longest edges with Chaat Masala, so that it has a very light coating only, followed by the mint.
- Cut lime in half and squeeze over watermelon triangles.
- Sprinkle triangles with sugar.
- Slide a skewer in the top of each triangle and served chilled or at room temperature.
