Just the idea of long tables in a garden, umbrellas and shared summery dishes makes your juices flow. So relaxing in Ruth’s lovely Springfield garden midway through a long weekend is pretty well irresistible. These are the right ingredients for a leisurely Italian style lunch.
‘Long lunch’ and ‘Italy’ just go together, like pasta and parmesan. Make up a party of your friends and share a summer’s day with an Italian flavour. Sun umbrellas set the scene on the lawn and the mood is mellow. Some might say lazy. The concept was such fun last year it returns by popular request, with a different menu.
Italian food is all about flavour, flair, family and friends. It’s about passing platters of tasty treats along the table in neighbourly fashion. Naturally, the food is generous and full-bodied, and wine is included. Feeling oh-so-relaxed after lunch, maybe you will be able to thank your hosts with ‘un pranzo squisito’(a delicious lunch). Magnifico!
