Incredibly proud to be New Zealanders

It’s highly gratifying when discerning clients take the trouble to give us their positive feedback. We were delighted when our "charming, superb young kiwi” front of house team was acknowledged and loved this wonderfully evocative description of our seafood: "the tastes are dancing in my mouth”.

Dear Ruth,

I have just returned from a week in Shanghai where I was
part of the delegation supporting Canterbury Week at the
NZ Pavilion. We were based all week in the VIP room and
had many opportunities to sample the simply terrific food
supplied by your chefs and served by your waiting staff.

The passarounds were inventive and delicious and our
seated dinners were fantastic. Our Chinese guests were
delighted to sample so many things that NZ has to offer
and one gentleman, after his scampi and paua, said "The
tastes are dancing in my mouth!”

Your staff members (Dan, Anneliese, Julia and Andrea)
were great and very charming: superb young Kiwis, for
whom nothing was too much trouble and who always
had a smile for us and our guests. We felt incredibly
proud to be New Zealanders and to show off our
gorgeous country and its food and people. Thank you for
doing such a great job in Shanghai. You can feel justifiably
proud of your employees.

Full of Beans

Good coffee is essential for the VIP Hospitality at the Pavilion, and Wellington’s iconic Caffe L’affare supplies its beans. Manager Paul Cockburn came to Shanghai to set up the espresso machine L’affare provided and to train staff  in the art and science of great coffee-making. Dan, Julia, Anneliese and Jane obviously enjoyed the experience.
