High tea for lunch


"In early November the gardens were simply splendid, with the roses in bloom, trees in new leaf and the herb and vegetable gardens bountiful. The Garden Room is a very attractive informal venue, attached to the Kitchen Shop, and we enjoyed its lovely space and warmth” Tony commented.

"We had a light lunch of absolute delectability. Armed with icing implements from Ruth’s shop, many of our members are keen to impress grandchildren with their cupcake skills!

"On a practical level, getting the recipes to take home is very helpful. Many members live alone, so recipes are much appreciated. We are already planning a similar session next winter, and Ruth has suggested a ‘soup, salad and bread’ theme”.

As organiser, Tony found all Ruth’s staff "utterly professional and helpful”. The whole day was "full of interest” and a wholly pleasurable experience for PROBUS members – one he recommends for groups.
